Only when we have a minimum of 30 viewers in the theater do we cover the cost of licensing and showing the film in our community. So let's get together!

2020 FILM SERIES! BASED ON TRUE STORIES

A SHORT HISTORY:
In 2014, Tahawus Center (Appleby Foundation, Inc.), and its neighbor the Hollywood Theater, were awarded a $70,000 NY State Council on the Arts matching grant, enabling the Hollywood to obtain the critically needed digital projection upgrades.  Part of the grant was to develop and launch a cultural film series bringing diversity to our local mainstream fare.  The Au Sable Forks Film Series launched in 2015.

This has been made possible by the Puffin Foundation, and the NY State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. ASF Film series also receives support from Essex County Arts Council Cultural Assistance Program, supported by the Essex County Board of Supervisors, Stewarts Shops, Tahawus Center, and from contributions from viewers and participants like YOU!
